Did you ever wonder what happens when you fall? Why do certain parts of the body get hurt? Why are certain parts protected? I’m not sure I have the answers to those questions but I’ll tell you about a client who fell and what I learned.

Falling’s Consequences
The elderly lady(but young at heart) tripped over the furniture at night and fell forward. She tried to protect her head so she landed on her hands. But then she got the brunt of the impact on her right side which was her weak side from a childhood illness.
She had a bad headache next day as the back tension went all the way up to her head. The headache was bad for a day but still continued the next couple of days.
When I saw her, she had painful nerves on her Right neck, Right upper and lower back. An advanced pain therapy called PIT was done which decreased the pain right away. After the visit, she had dramatically less pain than before the visit.
What Happens when a Person Falls
Think of a person as a pool noodle. Yes- a pool noodle. When the pool noodle hits the floor it has to absorb the impact. The upper part took some of the impact, the middle part was okay and the lower part took the impact as well.
That’s what happened when the elderly client fell. The middle of her back was spared but above and below it was injured. The nerves acted up and I treated it with PIT which helped the nerves feel better.
She noticed so much improvement in her pain that she gave me a big hug after the visit.
So when you fall, think about how you fell. The area that touches the floor will get injured but the injury will travel up the body and other parts of the body will get injured as well. The directly injured body part and the indirectly injured body parts all need to be treated. As the body is an unit and what happens to one part of the body will affect other parts of the body.
