I went to the most recent Buck Institute of Aging and attended a talk by Dr. Jennifer Garrison, PhD on Ovarian Aging and Women’s Health. I think it’s good to keep up on basic science.
The question is how do I get actions to help clients in the office from basic science. We shall see.

Ovarian Function
Ovaries show signs of aging decades before other tissues, it ages 2.5 times as much as the rest of the body. This is different from men where the aging of the body is the same over the whole body.
Ovaries are the architect of health – the pacemaker for aging in female bodies. The ovaries interact with the whole body – it’s just not a reproductive organ.
It interacts with the brain, bone, immune system, liver, muscle, kidney, skin, uterus, and pancreas.
Based on that, it seems like the ovaries are pretty important to a woman’s health.
One action that can be done is to use bioidentical hormones. There was a study called 10 Million study run by the National Institutes of Health (thanks to Dr. Lindsey Berkson for this reference) which showed that estrogen helps women live 19% longer.
I had a recent client contact me after being on hormones for One week and she noticed that her joint pain was 95% better and she had more energy. Nice!
So take care of your ovaries if you have them. Watch stress as any sort of stress (emotional, allergies, infections) will make the ovaries work worse – the ovarian function will decline.
Take care of your ovaries and your ovaries will take care of you. To Health!
