The Role of Copper and Zinc in the Body
Labs that tell about the whole body are essential to ensure that your body is in its optimal state. Copper and zinc tests are two key labs that can provide a comprehensive assessment of your total health.
When copper levels are too high, it leads to increased stress and anxiety, trouble concentrating, and generally poorer overall mental health. Low zinc levels, on the other hand, are linked to a weakened immune system and difficulty calming yourself down.
What You Need to Know About Copper and Zinc Testing
Recently I worked with a child who had been dealing with mold, Lyme disease, and Attention Deficit Disorder for some time. When we assessed his copper and zinc levels in his blood work we realized that they were not at optimal levels. We added supplemental copper and zinc to his regimen and after just one month, his mood swings had dramatically improved.
We know that copper and zinc support the body in many ways. They are important for producing stress hormones, calming factors, as well as helping the body fight off tick-borne diseases such as Lyme disease. These two minerals can have a huge impact on the various systems of the body so it is important to check your copper and zinc levels at least once a year. If any irregularities are detected, then more frequent testing should be done.
Empower Yourself With Knowledge
I find it amazing that two minerals can have such an influence over our bodies.
The key to living a vital and healthy life is to know what’s happening in your body. This is why I encourage all of my patinets to get there kinds of tests.
Once we know the reasults, I can make recommendations for supplements, dietary changes, or whatever else might be called for.
If you haven’t had your copper and zinc levels checked in a while, this is a great place to start as you begin your journey to total health.
