Stress is part of everyday life. A person can get stressed when work isn’t doing well or there’s conflict at home. We think stress is an emotional reaction but it’s an organ-ic one.
Meaning that stress is related to the adrenals. The adrenals are two small organs – each one above a kidney.
Everything that happens to us either increases or decreases stress. Let’s read about a case of stress
Coping with Stress
The lady had always been sensitive to chemicals her whole life. As a child she was sensitive to perfume smells. As she got older, she got more sensitive to chemicals. She now worked in an environment where there were people with lot of cologne. She was sensitive to the cologne. It caused her physical distress.
And when she experienced physical symptoms, colleagues noticed her distress. She was aware of her colleague’s emotional distress which further stressed her out. As a result of the stress, her neck muscles were unusually tight.
Neural therapy was done on the neck area which helped normalize her adrenals. She was less stressed by treating her nervous system!
Coping with stress involves dealing with the cause of stress. It may involve talking with people to deal with conflicts. In this case, it may involve dealing with her chemical sensitivity. Apparently her adrenals were stressed because the nervous system wasn’t working properly. Treating the nervous system helped her adrenals so that it could be dealing with stress.
Coping with stress also involves dealing with the effects of stress. When the body’s stressed, there’s loss of magnesium. When there’s low magnesium, there is muscle tightness. So giving a source of magnesium can be helpful. One simple way would be to do foot soaks or baths with Epsom salts which gives magnesium to the system.
So if you or a friend is stressed, deal with the causes of stress as well as the effects of stress. Dealing with the cause and effect of stress can be quite helpful. Next week’s blog will be about how the above lady made her chemical sensitivity decrease so that she should go back to work comfortably!
